Blow me! I usually buy my dear old mother a gift card for her birthday, as it makes both our lives much easier, (esp for me as I live in Australia.)
I've bought Marks and Sparks, BHS, and others. For a change I thought I'd get her a Tesco one, so she can get some groceries on it. Tried using the online order form, came across a hitch.
So I wrote to them, this is their reply;

Hello Mr Thomas
Thanks for replying.
Yes unfortunately you cannot place an order and pay using an Australian card and billing address.
Kind regards,

If only there was a way to transfer funds between bank accounts instead, that would be so useful.0

Hopefully, talking about BHS gift card you have purchased in the past and not in the past few months where since gone into administration, have to spend twice the amount on the card to redeem it.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I suspect the low number they would sell would be outweighted by the increased risk of fraud.0

She's 83 years old, and doesn't need for much. I could have bought her flowers, but they just die. I could have bought her chocolates, but she has digestive issues. i could have bought her wine, but she doesn't drink alcohol.
So I bought her a gift card that she could spend on things she actually wants.“If you trust in yourself, and believe in your dreams, and follow your star. . . you'll still get beaten by people who spent their time working hard and learning things and who weren't so lazy.”0 -
