Only defaulted accounts removed after 6 years?

I've heard accounts are removed from your credit file 6 months after they were defaulted. What if you had an account with months in arrears followed by arrangement to pay months then a number of paid in full months before being settled (closed by myself)?
I would like this to be gone from my credit file as it doesn't look great to lenders

If not defaulted, the account stays on your credit file for 6 years from the eventual settlement date.
Yes, it is daft that if you don't default the adverse info can stay longer.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Yeah it does seem a bit daft, it was closed in June 2010 so it should be gone by July this year?0
