The banks may do an ID check witht he bank details but also they are needed for the direct debit.
Your bank statements are also needed by the broker and those will have your account number and sort code on.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. A thorough broker will pretty much know your inside leg measurements by the time your mortgage completes

NI number - on payslips.
Bank details - on bank statements.
DoB - on ID
Address - on Bank statements and ID
Some lenders even want mothers maiden name for the application.
We have enough information to take out a Mortgage, surprisingly lenders want to know an awful lot of information before lending you the money.
However, I spent a good year or 2 of my life passing exams, obtaining competent advisor status, building a business and gaining a good reputation. Why would I do something to jeopardise that?
Check the company you are dealing with is on The financial services register and has a data protection license via the ICO register and you should be pretty safe.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. ACG, our lender has requested our marriage certificate suddenly, after they said everything is fine and offer should be posted. Why they are asking for that now? I've read on their website that it's only required when you are married for less then 3 years, but we are much longer.***Twins mummy***0

The only time I have been asked is if one or more of bank statements, payslips and ID do not all tally up. For example you ma have opened up your bank in your maiden name and just never got round to updating it or in work some people prefer to keep their original name and so the payslips to not tally up with everything else so it just helps to link both names together.
If something like that crops up in the initial meeting, I tend to just ask for the marriage certificate at the outset before applying so I can include it in the original application.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. ACG, our car finance was done on my maiden name originally, but I have changed my name in that agreement In 2013, so shouldn't be a problem I assume, as all statements and etc. is on my new name. And lender hasn't requested marriage certificate with initial documents and neither did with all additional documents. after checking everything and saying "offer will be sent within 2-3 days" lender came after 3 days asking now marriage certificate. our broker has complaint to them stating that they haven't requested that document previously and now wants to speak with their manager, is our broker right and I hope it won't affect getting an offer.***Twins mummy***0
