My understanding was that with a rtb selling within the fiirst 3 years would incur a clawback of the discount but I have now been told by one person that there is also a restriction on renting the propery during the 3 year period - I have never heard of this and can't find any mention in the proposed lease - does anyone know anything about this?
Thanks
Thanks
I think....

there isn't anything to stop you renting your property within the first 3 years as long as your tenants agree to the same terms of your lease that you sign up to as a leaseholder.0

My 80 yr old nan bought her council flat last year on right to buy. Due to her age this was a question we asked her solicitor. We got told that you could rent out in the 3 year period or leave property stood empty till 3 years were up. Only selling would mean paying a % of the discount back.0

hi I am a council RTB leaseholder and I have to pay a third back for every year (or portion thereof) that I leave early. Don't know about restrictions on renting, didn't see any in my lease.0
