How to appeal when you had a ticket

Hi all,
A friend of mine parked at stockport peel centre and bought a ticket which asked for her registration which she entered. However the ticket only showed one digit of the registration so they have sent her a parking fine for failing to display a ticket with her registration mark. The company is Excel parking services Ltd. Can anyone advise us on what to send to them to appeal? Obviously she will send proof of the ticket with it.

In the case of an IPC firm you have NO appeal worth trying (this is Excel at the Peel Centre and they are nasty - I would boycott that place). But we would still tell you NOT to say who was driving in any challenge, then I would say do not try the IAS stage because you will think you have 'lost' when you inevitably lose at the 'kangaroo court'.
This is all already covered & each stage is discussed in the sticky thread.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Why bother to appeal? Just send them a letter telling them of their equipment failure.
If they want to take it further, let them, it will cost them money. If companies behave irresponsibly, and fail to apply common sense they should be made to pay.You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
I tend to agree with TD here, if it were me I would love to see them in court and let them explain how their defective ticket makes you liable!
What were you supposed to do pay again and see if the machine worked the second time, or the third?0
