Housing benefit query

My 20 year old son has signed up to a house share from July which will cost him £110 a week including bills except Council tax.
As he is on minimum wage his earning range from about £150 to £180 a week plus tips of between 70 to £90 a week but the latter are obviously not guaranteed ( indeed neither are the wages as he's on zero hous contract but his hours have been fairly consistent since he started a few weeks ago).
My query is would he be able to ask for any help with his rent from the DSS? Nobody in the family including him are on any benefits it's not something I've even thought about until now.
He's moving out by choice by the way. Would appreciate any advice.

The DSS was dissolved in 2001. So the answer is no he cannot ask for help from the DSS.

My guess is he's earning too much to be entitled to any help from anyone anyway. £245/week when the figures are averaged is quite a reasonable amount to earn. Paying rent including bills of £110 he's left with £135 a week to spend on anything he wants.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.0
