I own a flat with a shared garden between 6 flats in total.
I know through the deeds that i own 1/6th of the garden, however i can't think of a way to see which 6th is mine, as i would like to do some gardening/landscaping/decking (it's a large garden).
Does anyone have any experience with finding this out?

Your deeds I would think would explain further, perhaps it means you all have a joint share in the whole area, ie, you'd need agreement to do anything, and anything you do could be used/accessed by others. Or it could mean literally 1/6 of the space is yours.
Without seeing how the ground is arranged I suspect its the first option.0 -
Which deed or document is saying you own 1/6th of the garden?
If you are a leaseholder and your lease includes 1/6th of the garden, the lease will show your piece of the garden.
But many leases are just for a flat - plus you have the use of a communal garden (i.e. the garden belongs to the freeholder).
Or are you perhaps a joint freeholder?0 -
Would also presume it's just a shared garden between 6 properties - unless it's huge! Even then, it's likely it would have been divided up before now.
If it's unloved, I'm sure you could approach the other flats to see if they'd object to you doing some gardening and improvements. Check with them before you add something like decking though as it's not for everyone. And if anyone has cats, remember lilies (and others) can be very dangerous so the owners might not be best pleased.
They might even be willing to contribute to a plant fund if all for it!

The garden measures about 45m in length by 20m wide, mostly just grass, a communal drying line area and a slabbed area behind the rear entrance, there are no clear indications as to which areas are owned by which flat, and the title deeds ( as far as i can see) don't give any specifics regarding the sharing of space.0

I think its much more likely that you own a notional 1/6 not a specific 1/6. So, if you were to install decking others could also use that unless you came to some agreement such as "I'm going to partition off some of the garden with decking, and I dont want any of you to use it, and the benefit to you of this is that .... errrm......".0

I own part of the front and back gardens for my block. My bits are specifically delineated on the title plan and lease. The rest of the gardens is communal, so all 6 flats in the block share the space but none have more rights over it than anyone else.
If your lease and title plan do not indicate that part of the garden is specifically demised to you then it isn't. That doesn't mean you can't improve the garden but you will have to tread carefully, get everyone, including the freeholder, on board, and be prepared to suck up the cost.0
