I knew this once, but have forgotten and can't find the info.
How do you put an emoticon in the box next to the thread title (on the list of threads in the Forum sections)?

You do it when you create the thread, there is a number of icons below the box that you type in and you select one before you post the new thread.
Not sure if you can add one after the thread has been started.
You can also have an icon for each individual post by using the go advanced option.

Just had a look and it seems that you can add an icon to the first post if you click edit the advanced.0 -

Yes, I tried the go advanced, and tried to post an emoticon on the title, but all that happened was that the emoticon appears beside the title name on the first post of the opened thread, not in the listings.(I just lurve spiders!)

Yes! That worked with this thread!
It must be thread age!
It was for my poetry thread, and it was two years old.

Yes, there is a timeout for editing thread titles as they show on the thread index, which also affects that icon.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
