Co-op Bank New Login System

Tried to log in as normal this morning only to be faced with a new login set up page.
I got as far as inputting a security code and as soon as I typed the first mumber, the screen went blank.
Phoned them up and was told that there is an issue with the Firefox browser. Happy days - Tried Edge browser and that was playing up as well (Stalls).

Why don't these IT people test their systems properly?

If they haven't got it working with a major browser like Firefox, I doubt whether they've even begun to think of Edge yet. Sadly developers like to believe that everybody still uses IE, despite what the stats say. Of course, your version of Firefox could be too new for them!

    NOTE:
I am bumping a slightly old thread with my own query.

has anyone been switched to the new login/banking system recently?
I know they say "gradually" but seems to be taking an age.

my sister was upgraded, must be 2 months ago now but me, OH and mum are still stuck on the old login system.

benefit of new system is you can delete all those old payee's online.

    thanks.

We use Co-op and Smile online banking everyday - and so far are still on the old system.

We like it - though that may be just because we're used to it - and are not in a hurry to be 'upgraded'.

But I'm surprised it hasn't happened yet - you'd think this would be rolled out fully by now.

I was upgraded to new system.
My problem with it is if it isn't broke don't fix it.
This new system does not work efficiently on safari. It took me ages to realise it was the browser. It constantly reloads the page and you get nowhere fast. It took half an hour to do something that used to take 2 minutes.
I was seriously thinking of changing banks.

  • At the moment, I am logging in on the "old" system - not even presented with the new option. I believe that they must be using a browser detection system and Firefox thankfully is not co-operating (excuse the pun)

I've been on the new system for at least a month. It usually works ok on the Google Chrome browser (on Windows 10, via PlusNet), except for the occasional very long delay while logging in.

My main complaint is having to click through several menu options before it displays the list of recent transactions, which is always what I want to see first.

I spoke to the Co-op about another issue a week or so ago; the lass on the phone told me the reason it had taken so long to get through was a plethora of calls about the new online banking system (which is the only one I've seen as a recent switcher) and that they were slowing down the switchover to be better able to deal with people having problems with the changes.

At least it works on Chrome for me, unlike M&S which won't even let me to the login screen on Chrome, however often I clear the cookies it claims is causing the problems. Tesco Bank's saving account application failed to work for me, and a helpful lass on their phoneline said that was down to a problem with the system on Chrome; luckily it worked on Edge. You'd have thought that if there are known problems on specific browsers it would be wise to put in a warning to users of those browsers.

I'm still on the old system. I only use the account to bag the £4 each month, so I only log in (with Chrome) once a month.
