Memphis & Vegas

Hi all, after 20 years together we are going to get married at Graceland on august 12 2008. The wedding itself is being booked direct with Graceland. We need advice/tips on how/when to book flights and accom. Should we do this ourself or let a travel agent do it. The plan is to fly from Manchester to Memphis on august 10 stay for approx 7 days then fly to Vegas for another 7 days then return to Manchester. There will be 3 of us including our son who will be 17 when we go. Thanks Mike.

We are going to Memphis,LA & Vegas in 5 weeks time on 12th oct. We are going on KLM from Norwich via Amsterdam (Direct flight from Amsterdam to Memphis on Northwest-There are no direct flights to Memphis from the UK unless you go as a package with Fedex!). We are staying in memphis 3 nights then fly on to Los Angeles (only 4-5 hours drive to Las Vegas), staying in vegas for 5 nights then rest of holiday in LA, Then fly direct from LA to Amsterdam & on to Norwich. For 2 adults & 1 child cost £1345 for the flights , the best deal i could get was direct with KLM at http://www.klm.com . Booked hotels & car hire seperately.

No, it's easy to DIY.

Why 7 days in Memphis? Graceland,(impressive) Beale St () and Lorraine Motel (must see) are the only sights (IMHO)

Vegas in August will be BOILING!


If you go with KLM you should be able to get a return ticket to Vegas with a free stopover en route at Memphis

I have to agree with Blindman. I took my wife to Memphis for 3 days when we stayed in the states and ended up cutting the stay short. Apart from Gracelands, there wasnt anything else to do.....

And Nigel seems to hit the nail on the head.....diy definitely the way to go, you can do what you want and make the trip specially for you....

How lovely - the Vegas dry heat is fantastic :T Wish I was there by the pool drinking cocktails.
