APCOA PCN - How to respond

Today I recieved a PCN from APCOA claiming I had parked at my local train station 3 weeks ago without paying as recorded by their ANPR system.
In fact I had paid and luckily, because I claimed the fee back on expenses, I still have a copy of the ticket which has all of the correct details on it.
Is there a correct format to put this in?
Personally I think this is a scam as many people would have binned their ticket by now and I wouldn't want to give any credibility to this process by referring to an "appeal". I'm minded to send them a photo of the ticket and my own invoice for an hour of my time sorting this nonsense out.

Yes do that but NOT by post, do it online or by email (depends what the PCN says about appeals).
And do NOT imply who parked/was driving. NONONO. See the Newbies thread and adapt the template appeal, writing in the third person.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

By all means send then an invoice, and if they ignore it send them a reminder, but are you prepared to make a claim?
I Have in the past ten years issued two, and the TP has settled in full before court. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
I could make a claim - Mrs thescouselander is legally trained and is familiar with the process. How much would the courts deem to be reasonable for an hourly rate?0

I believe the current accepted court rate is 19/hr but the small claims court limits you to (I think) about 95 quid. Keep tack of every minute spent on this, cost of 'phone calls, research, postage, anything at all that costs time and money; just make sure it is reasonable or auditable, and don't go over the top.

As far as an appeal, use the template from the NEWBIES thread. Carefully add that the driver paid and here is a copy as proof, so no loss to them. In addition, if the car park was owned by the railway then it is not relevant land and therefore the keeper is not liable. This is why it is so important to never let on who was driving.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.
