Do I have any rights here?

Earlier this year I renewed my contract with Three – and had a new mobile phone – a Huawei Honor 7. Because I live in an area that has very poor signal I often used Three’s own App – Three In Touch – which meant that if I had no Three signal I was able to connect to Wifi and make a telephone call.
Huawei recently sent out a software upgrade for the phone which I installed.
Since then I am unable to use the Three In Touch App.
I have contacted Three many times and was eventually told that the software in the phone is now not compatible with the App. So I cannot use it. According to Three they are trying to get this sorted out – but it has now been over a month since I first logged my complaint.
I tried to say to them that the phone is no longer suitable for me and feel that they should allow me to change my phone for one that is compatible with the App. It seems ridiculous that Three are selling a phone that is not compatible with their own App!
How do I stand from the trading standard point of view?
Any advice or comments would be welcome – thank you.

The phone was fully functional till you update the software. Therefore this not Three's fault.

Additionally expecting to install an update and for Three to be fully compliant is unreasonable - Three are working on it (so they say) and you will just have to wait.

Otherwise the fix would be to roll back the update and return to where you were until Three can support it.

Ask 3 for a Home Signal box, some info here:

they are all fine until something is wrong and then you might as well just smack your head over and over on the wall

I've always found Three to be fairly good when I've had any problems. I've got a signal box at home that they sent when I'm said I had poor signal. Also when the signal at where I work was down for almost two days they reduced my bill by half that month. They also told me when the signal would be back on and it was fixed before that time.

Another vote for their Home Signal Booster.

Simply connects to your WiFi network and since I got mine i've had 5 bars all over the house.
