Doormats

My doormat isn't really big enough to be able to stand on and shut the door. I am unable to get a larger one due to the shape of my hallway. I like the idea of a fitted doormat like this one:

The only issue is that I have ceramic tiles and I don't have the money or know how to be able to take them up and replace with carpet. So the a way of putting carpet tiles down over the top? If so, how would I secure them to the floor and would I still need a runner?

We've got a similar mat - it's about 2cm thick and sits in a recess by the back door (ours is loose so we can take it out to clean & there;s an access to under the floor there) You really need to take up the tiles where you want the fitted mat, a carpet fitter or a tiler would be the way to go.
