Has any one got any experience with whether these type of systems work, we were contacted by a company called green space energy based in ring wood. Claim to reduce energy by 30% by installing a system between boiler and radiators.

    What is it?

You need heat to get to the radiators. You do not want to be restricting this heat. Boiler makes heat and that heat is transferred to the radiators. Diverting it elsewhere will reduce the amount of heat you need.

If you want to save energy. Turn the thermostat down. Mine is set to 20 degrees during day and 16 at night. Turn the TRV's down, especially the ones in the bedrooms. If your bedrooms are upstairs enough heat should rise from downstairs to keep them warm enough. They don't need to exceed 16 degrees at night. You'll be sleeping under a blanket to keep warm. Keep the doors open to allow movement of heat. Keep the doors closed and radiators turned off in unused rooms.

edit: YAWN!!!! I just spent the last 15 minutes or so listening to the rubbish. Right I think I've got it. They can claim the savings of "up to" 20% are genuine as they turn the boiler temperature down to 60 degrees causing the boiler to always be in condensing mode, they replace pumps and valves, install TRV's on all the radiators and replace the manual dial thermostat with a digital programmer. If you've already got all of these things you won't see any savings.

:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p

Make you wonder how many people are taken in by all this blurb, sounds as good as double glazing sales tactics.
