Printer problem

I have a printer (Zebra GK420d) which has suddenly started to misbehave.

It is printing 'every other' item. Let's say I have to print 50 address labels, I select the 50 items and it prints 25, missing every other label off. Yet they all are visible in the print queue.

I can print in ones, but anything above 2 gives me half what I want.

I hope that makes a bit of sense and would be obliged if anyone has any idea what has happened. There have been no changes/updates to anything on the system as far as I am aware.

    Hi,
Zebra printers are a nightmare when they start doing stuff like this.
It is usually a driver issue so I would start by removing and re-installing the print driver .

Here is instructions to completely remove a print driver/package if your not sure ..

Thanks, just done that and it's still the same. But, I've just tried printing on a different browser and it's fine on IE but not on Firefox. I prefer Firefox, it's not the end of the world but does anyone know why it would be misbehaving in one browser and not another?

When you say they are all visible in the print queue, do they stay in the print queue or do they disappear after the job (half) completes?

If it's the latter, my guess is your printer is printing them but printing them 'off the page'. This would suggest that Firefox is configured for the wrong label type. This would kind of explain why IE works, as it happens to be configured correctly.

The label type needed should be on the packaging somewhere.

That's my guess based on the information you provided. It's most likely wrong, I find printers to be notoriously fiddly.

They are visible in the print queue and on preview, so I don't think it's a page thing. Besides I have been printing quite merrily like this for years and it's suddenly decided to omit every other label despite it being the browser I've always used.

Very odd. But thanks for offering a suggestion.

Presumably you haven't changed a setting to "print odd pages" or "print even pages" have you?
