The metro takes you straight to the town centre and costs about £3.10. Get off at Norreport. You buy a ticket from the machine with credit/debit card or coins (notes not accepted) Put the card in and instructions are in English. I don't remember seeing return tickets and I didn't look for a train so can't help there.
I hired a bike and then noticed 'bike tour in English at 11 o'clock' so paid a bit extra and did the tour. Good way to see everything in a short time. Some hostels hire out bikes too
From here, very easy to find:http://copenhagenbicycles.dk/rent/

There is a high quality market near the exit from the metro called Torvehallerne.
When coming out of the Metro at Norreport you go left for the town centre but if you go right, across the road, you will see 2 or 3 new looking glass market buildings. Meat/fish in one, veg/deli in the other and flowers outside. Lots of free samples when I went on a Monday morning.Love living in a village in the country side0 -
If you intend to visit Tivoli and to take a river boat ride, you can buy a combo ticket that will save you money, at the ticket desk.
In addition, individual rides at Tivoli can be relatively expensive, so better to purchase a day pass for around £20 that covers all rides. No obligation to take any rides at all. One can just enjoy the grounds. There might be live music, dependent on when you visit.0 -
Public transport in CPH is zonal and is based on using journeys within a set time. Tickets can be used on any form of transport. Hot dog stands are good for cheap eats. Food and drink isn't too pricey in supermarkets.
The main museum is free entry0 -
We took the metro from the airport to the town centre and the train back. We didn't even realise we were on the train platform rather than the metro! All in all, it was similar price, similar time, ie. very quick! Couldn't believe how easy it was.
There are many parks to enjoy, so it's easy to spend the day on the bike going from one to another at no cost.0 -
