Hi
I have had an acer laptop for nearly 4 years now. It is only 40gb, but it is brilliant and was only just knocked off the number -one -spot according to the price comparison site, Ciao. It hasn't given me any trouble so far, (touch wood).
Hope this helps.0 -
I'm on my second acer laptop and have been very happy with them. I know some people don't like acer but as with any brand - some people will have bad experiences . but a lot won't. and it's the bad experiences you tend to hear about and not the good. My current laptop is the exact one you've linked to and I would highly recommend it . hope this helps.0

I have an acer laptop. I also have heard people say they wouldn't touch them. Dunno if the one your looking to buy is a good price. But as far as the brand acer goes, dont rule acer out. I have been very happy with mine.I came into this world with nothing and I'm gonna leave with nothing.0

thanks acer sounds good - any1 know if this is a good price? cheers0

Hey vtmil, I can confirm that this is a lovely laptop and a very good price too.
You'll be hard pushed to find better for the money although ebuyer are selling this one http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/126332.
It all depends what you want the laptop for, the ebuyer one has a bigger HDD and a faster CPU but as its a Core Duo rather than a Core 2 Duo as in the Comet one you'll probably find the performance is very similar.
If you like the convenience of being able to pick it up locally i'd stick with what you've got already, seems like a great deal. Otherwise, check out the ebuyer one, its still Acer and you are getting a slightly better spec for the same money0 -

Very similiar spec but this one is from the newer range, slightly higher fsb processor, gigabit ethernet and a newer chipset.

Can upgrade the warranty to 3 years and get a bag and mouse for 59 quid, a lot better than any extended warranties or extras that comet are likely to give you too.0 -
I find Acer one of the best when it comes to laptop, as with any though it depends what you want it forIt's taken me years of experience to get this cynical0

I've read some good reviews of Acer laptops and they seem to be very competitively priced.
There are a few reviews of Acer laptops by Computer Shopper magazine at this link...
