Hi,
My nephew, age 4 always travels in his car seat in the back of my sisters car.His friend who is 6 travels in his mothers front passengers seat(also in a childs car seat). Is there an age where a child can travel in the front seat? And what if the car has airbags fitted I've heard this can be dangerous to a young child?Help appreciated.

If airbags are fitted, child seats in the front are basically a no-no.0 -
They're safer in the back, (statistics always say this)personally when I see people with kids in the front with/without car seats it drives me mad. Especially recently when I saw a mum with a baby sitting on her lap in back of car. I just can't understand how you wouldn't want anything but the safest for your children.0

My friend had her baby sat in her lap in the front seat and some idiot on his mobile crashed into them causing a head on collision. My friend and her baby died. It just isn't worth putting your children at risk. I still see another friend who still has her baby on her lap in the car, you would have thought that our friend and baby dying would have had some impact on her.0

Most cars (I would say all, but there is bound to be an exception somewhere!) with a passenger airbag have a switch (often key operated and in the door pillar, open the passenger door to find it) to switch off the airbag when you want to put a child seat in the front.0
