No Electricity Meter

I`ve seen quite a few places where the idiots had gone and removed the meter completely and had been thieving electricity for years. The new occupiers were quite happy to keep the status quo as well for as long as possible.
I`ve also seen meters hiding away in some strange places such as in the ceiling space where a piece of ceiling tile has to be removed to see the meter.0 -

Another route to try
Records of which meter supplies a domestic address are held on Regional Data Bases
To access yours, Google "Who supplies my Electricity" for the phone number of your Regional register
They can tell you if there is a meter dedicated to your address and it's details including the current supplier, wh hopefully will know where it's located0 -

The EON letter has an account number on there, that I have given to people I have spoken to but they say they have no record of it.
If there is electricity in the flat (you don't need an electrician to establish that!), there were payment arrangements in place, names on the account, you had an account number etc there almost certainly has to have been a meter there somewhere & I would have thought both BG & Eon ought to have an MPAN number on file for any account they had0 -

My neighbours have a meter in their property, and I've had the council round, we checked external cupboards where a meter might have been, but none contained a meter.
The sale was a bankruptcy sale and no one has lived there for about 18 months. There were some old bills from Eon and British Gas, so I started with them, assuming they may some record of the property but according to both of them, my property was never listed with them as a customer.findingmyway wrote: »When I say phase supply box, this is what the electrician and UKPN have called it, when referring to the box that bring the electricity into the house, which then supposedly connects to a meter from an energy supplier.

Hello findingmyway and sorry for the late reply. Just noticed this thread.
Sounds a bit of a strange one. Already some excellent advice on here. Thought I'd try to add to this. If we've supplied the property in the past, there'll be a record even if we're no longer the supplier. The letters you mention, though, might refer to another property/account holder and we've been given your details as a forwarding address sometime in the past. Guessing here.
Guessing again but it could be as sacsquacco says and the meter has been removed due to some illicit activity in the past. Again, if we were the supplier at the time, details will be on file.
I'll be happy to take a look for you if you drop an email to the address in my Profile. Please include as much detail as possible including the full address and post code.
Sorry again for the late reply findingmyway but hope this is of interest.

If you've got an old bill then there may be an MPAN number on it somewhereNever under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0
