Egg asking for confirmation of address - good sign?

I had an Egg credit card which I closed back in 2002. I sent off a claim form on the off chance recently and have just been asked to send confirmation of my new address (I've moved a few times since then). I didn't know my account number but it's now on the letter they've sent and so they've obviously found me. Am I jumping the gun to think this is a positive sign? Anyone else have this but then been rejected? TIA!

  • It wasn't for me. They came back to me with a "we need to wait for consultation from the FCA re. Plevin vs Paragon" reply which basically put the claim on hold. I've gone to the FO with my complaint as I don't think Plevin is relevant.
