I have downloaded a document that needs filling in signing & dating then returning.
Downloaded Ok using Adobe Reader DC after filling in using fill & sign I cannot add the date !!!
Any idea why not............
Might be me being thick.......
Or do I need the 'paid for' version of Adobe Reader ??

Got a link?
Otherwise your question is pretty much 'something doesn't work, how can I fix it?'0 -
If it needs signing anyway, print it and do the date by hand?0

Ask whoever set up the form how they expect you to complete it. Perhaps they made a mistake and need to enable something to allow the date to be entered.0

I'd guess they have miss-set it up with the 'filling of form fields' document property blocked.
Given that the rest of the document contains confidential info that I would hope that the document properties have been password protected from being changed to prevent anything being edited. In which case even with the full Acrobat you cannot do anything about it without the password.
So as per the previous reply - you are knackered - go and ask the originator what they want you to do. Print it, sign and date by hand - stuff it in the post seems to be the most likely answer.0 -
With my Acrobat Reader DC I can add text using "Comment" (on the right side) >> "Add Text" (at the top) (or "Add text box").
If it works, you can type the date over the form.0 -

So how are you gonna sign it then?firefox1956 wrote: »Nope, because the document is part filled in with confidential information.
But thanks anyway.
Nobody wanted a link to your partly filled copy. We need the link to the original empty document from where you downloaded it.0 -
I suspect the document was auto-generated with the confidential data in place at creation time so there is no empty document to download.0

If the form was meant to be filled only with the Adobe Reader access, then the form field would have to be either a text input field or a date one. I don't think you can change that as an end user.
However if the form was sent through a system like Echosign (or whatever Adobe calls it now) you should be able to sign and date it online. You do not have to download it as such.SPC 08 - #452 - £415
