Good glad it's gone through.
I was wondering if a buyer could approach the local authority and get a copy of BR certificate the seller is being slow or awkward?0 -
If "the system" made it mandatory for all sellers to have these documents in place in order to sell a house then I think it would cut out a huge amount of messing around. It would also prevent unscrupulous people selling with known problems and forcing buyers to spend money to find out until someone eventually buys it without checking...To err is human, but it is against company policy.0

Thanks! We will be without broadband for a month due to a lack of engineers, so that will be interesting to deal with, but as with anything, once it is all in place I can forget about it all!To err is human, but it is against company policy.0 -
Of course there are still things that can go wrong between exchange and completion... Our completion statement had put the money we paid towards the 10% deposit (about £30k) as a cost of selling our house, so this meant that we are being overcharged by £60k!!!
Obviously as we paid that money, it should be taken away from the costs (giving us £30k back) and added to the funds for paying for the new house (giving us a further £30k).
I almost had a heart attack! To err is human, but it is against company policy.0
