You would need to close the account and then he would need to open an account with Eon.

So your closing readings would be the same as his opening readings.

The final bill from Eon to you would be sent out upto 6 weeks after you closed the account.

If it is just in your name no you cannot just put it in his name. What you can do is phone up on the day you move out with meter readings and tell them you are moving. They will ask for a new address for you and send you a bill for all monies that are due up until then. You will be 100% liable for that bill and they will expect it to be paid within 28 days.

Good morning Ad4757 and welcome to the forums.

You've been given some super advice here, but just wanted to offer my support and information also.

If you can take some meter readings on the day you move out you can then contact us, we'll close your account to the reads you provide and send this to your new address (we'll need this info from you as well) if you have an online account the final bill will be there if you opted out of paper bills.

You can then pay your final bill, either online, phone etc and your account will be closed with a zero balance.

The new account for the property will need to be taken over by whoever is going to be responsible, it's normally best they contact us so we can open the new account with all of their details.

I hope this helps and if you need me, please just ask :)

    Thank you
