UPVC Door hinge drop - replacement door?
scrub
I have a double-panelled glass front door on my flat and it's now butting up against the frame as it's dropped slightly.
A local UPVC company has said that because it's a new build (9 year's old), the builders have installed cheap windows which is no surprise.
They say there is very little they can do as the hinge has very little room for adjustment. They said they could replace it with a German one for £850+VAT
Are there any other cheaper alternatives? Here's a pic of the hinge

I'd get a second opinion from another company. I'm no expert, but I successfully straightened by back door that was catching. It believe it's called toeing and heeling in the trade. I could be the door is out of square rather than a hinge problem0

I would agree with flashg67, get another opinion. When my doors start hitting on the frame 4/5 times it is the door going out of square. The door guy takes off the facings and adjusts the packing around the double glazed unit to bring it back into alignment. Only once have I actually had to have the hinges adjusted.0

If re-packing the door fails you could also remove the existing hinges and fit flag hinges which would allow more scope for adjustment. A good double glazing repair guy should be able to do this for you.0
