Tax credits paying 30 pounds a week?!

My self return for 2014/15 was sent off on the deadline of 31/07/15. It was the first time I did it while receiving working tax/child credits however I made a mistake. I'm self employed and earned around 12k. The mistake I made is i said I earn around 7000 on benefits on top, which I don't I stupidly included the tax/child credits as a benefit so brung my entitlement right down. I have been struggling since this entitlement has been severely cut. I have notified them and they are saying they can't make changes to the income. What are my options? Any chance I can reclaim it?

When did you first tell them you made this error?

Did you give them an estimate for 2015/16 during that year?

Or an estimate for 2016/17 this year?

Have you received this year's renewal?
