I am unemployed, however I have a job lined up which does not start until July. I applied for Universal Credits yesterday, my enquiry is can I receive these benefits from now until I start my job in July or do they require claimants to find any work immediately to receive the benefits?
Your help would be greatly appreciated.

You need to meet the conditionality requirement and that is to actively seek work. If you're not looking for work you get nothing.
You can work for the next 2 months so go out today and get a temporary job starting tomorrow and you can earn yourself some money. Depending on your circumstances you might only need to work for 16 hours a week. If you're single with no children it's 35 hours a week.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

To receive JSA/UC you need to be searching for jobs, gong to interviews etc. You cannot just get money until the job starts. Things happen and the job may not materialise or you may find something betterLost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

Yes, you can - as long as you satisfy the conditions in your Claimant Commitment (usually detailing your job searches and so on).
UC is paid in arrears and takes 5 - 6 weeks for payment to be received.
After your first signing, you'll then sign fortnightly, so you may only have 2 signings before your last one. You don't 'sign off' UC in the same way you did JSA but your last signing is allowed to be 13 days or less prior to your start date of your new job in July and you'll be paid up until the day before, as well as receiving NI credits.
Good luck. Please be polite to OPs and remember this is a site for Claimants and Appellants to seek redress against their bank, ex-boss or retailer. If they wanted morality or the view of the IoD or Bank they'd ask them.0 -
