    Usage of premium rate 084 and 087 numbers is in terminal decline. The main remaining usage seems to be by sellers of tickets for cinemas, theatres, sports events and for coach and train travel.

    The benefit to the called party is only a few pence per minute. More goes to HM Treasury and the vast majority to the telecoms companies. Many users of these numbers may have been misled as to what callers pay for these calls.
