Somebody claiming to be from Homesure phoned me today to tell me that the warranty on my washing machine was just about to expire and suggested I renew it.

This can't be genuine because I've never bought a new washing machine in my life - I only buy secondhand reconditioned washing machines. When I told him that, he said, 'Well, it would have had a warranty when it was new.'

This can't be anything but a scam, so pleased be warned if anyone cold calls regarding a warranty about to expire.
Better is good enough.
