replacement conservatory door

Our double glazed conservatory door has never fitted properly - you can see light round the edge of it - we are looking for a replacement - together with a cat flap built in to the bottom half...
The door that we have is a full length glass one.
Are they a standard fitting or are the hinges made for a specific brand ?
I realise that a full glass door is going to be more secure - but are the "half and half" doors, strengthened with more than just a UPVC panel - that could be kicked in ?

Your door probably just needs adjusting - each hinge will probably be adjustable in three directions (up/down, left/right, in/out from frame). There's lots of videos online to advise - it might be a 20 minute job of just adjusting (and adjusting and adjusting...) to fix. The door must have fit originally...

Thanks - but the door was always a "loose" fit and the lock is poor as well - it is difficult to turn - hence the idea of getting a completely new door (with half glass)
is this possible or are the mounting points not standard ?

If it isn't lined up properly due to poor installation or settling the the lock will be tight. Get it adjusted before looking at a replacement as this could prove to be a pain depending on where and when the conservatory was sourced.

You may also find that there is no in/out adjustment, this will depend on who manufactured it and what price point it was aimed at!

It was a cheapy (£7000 for a 12 by 8 foot) - including dwarf walls - you get what you pay for - 15 years ago - so it has done OK
The company who originally did the work have gone out of business
