Hello,
We took out insurance for my dog back in October and I checked it over and all looked in order. We are looking to start a claim this month as my dog has a problem with his cruciate ligament and the vet is looking at x rays etc. But I noticed today that the date of birth is incorrect. (Down as August instead of July). I am nervous about changing the date in case they provide me with a new policy (something I cannot do as the dog has already been to the vet really his ligament so it would be a pre-existing condition.) But will the disparity between the vets notes and the insurance policy details mean that I cannot claim? I am nervous as we have already been told a previous claim was a preexisting condition so they wouldn't pay out

which company is it? Some look for any reason to refuse to pay out.
I would suggest you contact them before you claim as the difference may lead to delay in any payout as the may think it is a different dog. I don't think it would be a problem with a reputable company as it is only a month difference.
I would phone and explain you have just noticed the wrong dob but not mention potential claim- one thing at a time.0
