Garage Flooring

I went for foam tiles as I was more interested in thermal insulation.
Laminate floor tiles or lino should be OK with being driven on occasionally.
Is it this type of foam tile ?

They will not be suitable for a garage floor. They are suitable for nothing more than a play area for children.
See here for an example of something more suitable:

Do note that you'll be looking at around £36/m2 - a typical single garage of say 2.5x5m with allowance for wastage will set you back about £540.
They do have the advantage of requiring minimal prep - you can put them over rougher concrete surfaces and the only real prep you'll need is to sweep up/vac away any dust first, though you may want to patch up any large dips or holes in the floor if you have any.
If you went down the epoxy resin coating route, you'd need to meticulously clean the area, patch any holes and if you have a very rough surface you'll probably want to give it a self-levelling screed coat first to get a nice smooth level surface before applying the resin coating. Probably works out around the same sort of price but more work.
Something else to consider is if you damage a tile, its just a case of ripping it out and putting down a new one (buy spares with your initial order so they're from the same batch for best colour match).0 -
It'll cost under £100 to put cempolay ultra down (if you DIY). 2 - 4 bags (3-8m2 per bag) plus some SBR to prime the surface. You'll need a hand to mix it (hire a proper paddle mixer as it's a lot easier, quicker and gives a better mix) and a bit of care when laying it (plenty of guides on youtube). Can be done in a couple of hours.0

Thanks for all suggestions. I'm thinking i prefer the idea of a 'softer' covering (tile or vinyl type thing). Am considering this PVC covering (£130 from costco): http://newageproducts.com/uk/flooring/0

The Costco site says the Versaroll they sell is 228 x 610cm. Since the typical UK single garage is between 250 x 500 and 300 x 600cm, it's a shame the rolls don't come a bit wider!0 -

My thoughts exactly re the roll size ! My garage is 2.7 x 5.25. though i'll be putting in a run of 600mm base units so in effect the floor space will be 2.7 x 4.65.
I'll just about get away with 1 roll, there will be a join in the middle and it will be 9cm short but i can live with that !0 -
There is a company on ebay (from Exeter) selling gym or garage flooring in many different sizes and thickness's.0
