Help!-Led Spotlight keeps tripping circuit breaker

Hoping there are any electricians who can help me on this one. Just fitted an Arvon LED spotlight bar and everytime I turn it OFF at the light switch, the fuse box trips. I've tried it with all other appliances switched off and the same happens, but only when I hit the off switch. The previous light was quite old with a junction circuit( not sure I have the lingo correct) This one, I think, has a loop-in circuit. Could I have wired it wrong, or is the new light just overloading the system?
Any help would be hugely apreciated?

You've almost certainly wired it up wrong. The junction circuit was most likely a ceiling rose; without knowing how it was wired up, and how it's wired up now, I'd certainly recommend getting someone competent in.
No offence intended, but you don't really want to kill yourself, or anyone else.0 -
None taken, really. I already tried to wire it without turning it off at the fuse box:eek: Ouch!! How dumb am I?:o
The last light was indeed a ceiling rose. There are two thick grey wires from the ceiling each containing a black, red and green/yellow wire. Then there's three tiny sockets which go to the LED light that I connect these wires to. I've connected the green/yellow wires from each grey wire to the earth socket, the black wires from each grey wire to the neutral socket, and the red wires from each grey wire to the live socket(or is it vice versa for the black and red...I forget..., anyway I'm at work now) So where have I gone wrong? The lights come on when I turn on at the fusebox. It just trips the whole thing when I turn them off at the light switch.0 -
I just wrote a really long reply but I have decided to give you some advice...Get a sparks in. This will likely be sorted in a few minutes by an electrician and you wont end up dead!0

If you've only got two cables, then one of them is the switch, and one is the supply.
You've shorted out the connections by ramming them all together. You can find diagrams online for the basic arrangement, but I would recommend getting someone competent to look. It doesn't need to be a professional electrician, someone with basic experience will do.0 -
A ceiling rose will contain looped (or ringed) lives, neutrals (sometimes 2 or more depending on where the rose in the circuit) and a switch pair. If you just disconnected them from the old rose, you need, as has been suggested above, to call in someone knowledgeable to work out which wire goes where. It is possible you have connected a live to a neutral, hence why the breaker trips - just doing it's job.0
