Bank statements are a form of ID and proof of address.

You're means tested for JSA/UC on your capital, not your winnings as others have also said.

Great, thank you for the reply and information provided, it is greatly appreciated.

Blank out any information, it should be for proof of address only. Make a photocopy, blank out with marker anything to do with incoming and outgoing funds.

I won't, this will probably make the statement invalid and will raise unnecessary eyebrows.

They require the original. There is no need to hide what you spend your income on. You can spend ALL of your income on gambling they cannot say or do anything at all.

Try redacting information and they'll reject the statement delaying payment of JSA by several weeks. This will lead to a delay with the linked housing benefit. Due to a lack of incoming money the rent will go unpaid and the claimant could find themselves homeless very quickly. Without a home it's going to much harder to find work.

:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p
