I have mobile 30 days monthly renewal contract with virgin mobile had it for 3 years, i applied for loan in august 2015 and its declined due to bed credit on equafax credit file, so i had downloaded credit file to check whats wrong in the file. i have about 15 mobile account on credit file and 3 of them were default, therefore i rang virgin mobile to check what's happing with my account. they said due to system issues some account merged in to my account therefore my credit file is effected, they said they would resolve the issue within 2 weeks after 2 weeks nothing changed in credit file so rang them again they said its major issue so cannot be resolved this quick they ask me to wait another 4 weeks after that when i checked it was same no changes were made, so i complained to CISAS
cisas accepted my claim and virgin paid me compensation of £350 cisas also ordered virgin to resolved issue in 20 days but they failed to resolve it now i have i asked cisas about it they said they will ask to virgin and come back to me, they came back saying that virgin said it will take time

You could speak to the ICO (and tell Virgin that you're about to do it) which may give them the kick up the backside they need.

Your other alternative is small claims action, although as you have yet to try to get a mortgage or loan your provable losses other than phone calls are nil.

Even if you were knocked back, you would probably need confirmation from the lender that the only reason they knocked you back was because of the default(s). Confirmation they may not be willing to provide.
• hi thanks what is ICO would you tell more about this I dint know anything about it,
• Hope you get this resolved.

Am in similar situation, refused a meter by Scottish Power and lo and behold my credit report has a 'serious arrears' report off Virgin.

Have just complained so its ongoing.

Also note that my having never had a credit card is marked as a negative.
