Ebay collect in person

I'm an eBay novice and have just won a bulky item which is marked 'collect in person'. I know sellers don't like Paypal for these transactions. However eBay is prompting me to pay by Paypal/card. What needs to happen next for this message to go away? Should I wait for the seller to contact me? Thanks.

Why not contact the seller yourself?

Arguing with idiots is like playing chess with a pigeon: no matter how good you are at chess, its just going to knock over the pieces and strut around like its victorious.

I was hoping to get independent advice before dealing with the seller, Naf.

I'm not quite sure what advice you are looking for? None of us really know what seller is expecting, so contact them and find out.

You do remain however able to pay however you want. If you pay by cash on collection then just make sure you inspect the item thoroughly before you take it away.

Well I want to know what happens to make eBay stop asking me to pay. Do I have to do something or does the seller? Or will I constantly have a message on my account asking me to pay for the item? I thought these cash on collection transactions are quite common so I was hoping someone could enlighten me.

It can be marked as paid by seller when you turn up with cash, but ultimately you can just ignore it.
