Hi
I am looking for budget (if there is such a word in the school holidays :rotfl:) holiday suggestion for me and my son (age 9)
We like holiday parks as it self catering (son is a fussy eater and its hard to find restaurants he will eat at) and there is lots to do on site. The problem with this is I would have to pay for a caravan to hold 6 which works out too expensive when there is just two of us.
Butlins do a twin room so we always go there but I am getting fed up with it and want something different.
Unfortunately camping is out as I am not strong or able enough to put a tent up on my own.
Any other ideas
Thanks

Caravans for 4 here
http://www.parkholidays.com/haven?gclid=CKLX8pnIyswCFeYK0wodC9YLvQMama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.0 -
How about hiring a cottage for two. Take a look at Sykes there are cheaper but it's the one that springs to mind.Life is like a bath, the longer you are in it the more wrinkly you become.0

Glamping? Where they have wooden structures or tepees already up?0

Thanks everyone think I have left it a bit late for this year as most of the cottages and caravans suggested were already booked, but its definitely something I will look into for next year.
I have looked at glamping before as I think we would both really enjoy that sadly its very expensive.
We could borrow a tent from friends, I might try ringing some campsites and ask if they have a 'helping to put up/take down tent service' does such a thing exist? (I would be happy to pay)0 -
Friends stayed here and loved it. Not sure how pricey or otherwise it is though.

Where about do you fancy going . how far do you travel . what do you both like doing .any pets .most places charge for the week .maybe some have entertainment passes per person. Most places that also state sleep six only have 2 bedrooms so that's ideal for you and your lad:cool: hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world :cool:0

Expensive initial outlay, but have you considered an air tent??
Or a pop up from decathlon?
An inflatable from decathlon.....http://www.decathlon.co.uk/air-seconds-family-4-inflatable-tent-4-man-id_8330634.html
A pop up from decathlon......seems the larger ones have been stopped. But you can search for a second hand one. Quechua is the make.0 -
And don't discount camping if you enjoy it. There are many tents that can be put up by a single.person.
Tent talk on Facebook is helpful forum, if you ask on there an.sure they'll suggest a suitable.Tent.0 -
You have been to butlins, try pontins? Same kinda thing but cheaper and not as modern. They do mon-fri, fri-mon and 7 day breaks.0

Thanks all
I have been looking at those inflatable tents, I never knew such a thing existed. I have seen pop up tents before but there is no way I could manage one of those, I struggle to collapse my son's toy pop up tent :rotfl:
Next stage is to find a retailer near me that stocks inflatable tents to see if am able to try one before I buy. They are expensive but it would pay for itself within a couple of years.0
