Credit file tips and advice

Having had to keep my struggling business afloat with personal finance a few years ago, my credit file dropped from 996 to 450.

Since then I have sold my property, using the equity to buy a house in my partners name. I have a good job, owe about 3k on cc and hmrc, pay everything on time and have savings. My score is currently around 600, and I'm keen to get back on the property ladder as soon as possible.

I am after ANY tips that will help raise my score? My partner is very supportive and happy for me to be signortory etc as we have done on a CC , any help greatly appreciated.

    Ignore your score. It's irrelevant.

To build a good credit history, get a credit card and use it regularly, paying in full each month. Get on the electoral roll.

    Manage your accounts responsibly.

And continue to ignore the score on a daily basis.
