Query regarding financial association

Quick question,

OH has been asked to be a second signatory on a business bank account for communal repairs. He is due to remortgage in a few months, how would this look on his remortgage application. Should he hold off until he has remortgaged, as he is with changing his own bank account & mobile phone? Does being a signatory affect his credit history?

Thanks guys

Being a signatory shouldn't affect anything, signatories aren't liable for the debt on the account they are signatories for.

They may credit check him but I can't see it causing any problems with a remortgage, at worst it would appear as a credit check for a bank account, rather than a credit check for a credit card or personal loan.
