Hi, I live in a typical 1930s semi with a knock through lounge/dining room and galley kitchen downstairs. Is the extension and current back-room going to be all the one big open plan area?

Just that you mention kitchen and then lounge/dining. If they are separate, then I would have kitchen/dining as the combi and then lounge separate.
