Parent died, credit card debt

Hello
My father recently passed away, and I am now going through his paperwork.
He took ill whilst visiting family abroad a month ago and ended up in Hospital there before passing away there.
I have since discovered and Amex bill for him which now states it has been passed to debt collection agency.
What do I do?
The house was in My Mam and Dads name aswell as mine. Both parents have now passed away.... does that house class as his estate still?
He left no Will and a few hundred quid in the bank that covered a few costs abroad for him to have his ashes brought back here.

Any help is appreciated

    Sorry for your loss.

    I beleive the answer to your question will depend on whether the house is held between you as 'joint tenants' - in which case your fathers share of the house automatically passes to the othere 'tenants' outside of his estate, or as 'tenants in common' - in which case your fathers share forms part of his estate.

    If you aren;t sure which it is, the wording on the land registry entry for the property will tell you. See here showing you the wording to look for;

    As far as the Amex bill goes, I suggest you get in touch with them ASAP to explain that your father has died and that you are in the process of sorting out the estate
