Income support and working odd day how does it work

:)Hi All,

I am new to claiming income support and at the time I had no income coming in, however I have been asked to do the odd gig and be paid for it, I am unsure of how regular, this could be 1 a month or 1 every 6 months. My questions are these:-

Do you have to tell income support people about this? If I am paid £60 per gig and I have spent £300 on equipment in order to do it, do I minus this as an expense then say I have earn't nothing? And how can you tell them you are working if it may be a one off?
Do they stop your benefit or just deduct from what you will get........

Sorry to waffle, but I am confused and that don't take alot lol.:D

If you're really on Income support you need to tell them very single time you work. One off or not.
I'm surprised if you're genuinely on income support you've haven't read the rules you signed. You should know this even in its broadest definition.

Whether they stop your benefit for that week will entirely depend on your hours and wage.

Your equipment can not be minused as an expense under income support.
