:wave::wave: to Gers from Milngavie. We really ought to meet up some-time. Camelot could join us, she's just up the road. Not sure where in the big smoke Squeky is?

Nice-ish day. I'm off to walk FurryBeast. Then into town via the gym. Tru sorry Scampi is trying the guilt trip. Ozzie has it perfected. Although he's too old to want to play, he just wants his ears scratched.:D

    Have a good day everyone.

    Good morning everyone,

Hugs to everyone, and special hugs to nmlc.

Its another lovely day here in Kent. DH is out working, DS will hopefully put in an appearance at some point this morning! and DD is still in bed!

I'm just going to put some washing on the line, and I have so much ironing and washing to sort out! I have so much to do, but really can't be bothered, so I need to write out a long list of everything, so I can work through it and cross it out as I go.

I also need to go and do some food shopping and run some errands. I was hoping DD and I could spend some time together, but she just won't get up and then by the time she's ready its time for her to go to work!

Well I had better get going otherwise I'll have wasted another day.

Yesterday I went into Morries and bought some perennial plants for the garden at £1 each, so need to dig out the weeds and plant them today.

Have a lovely day everyone and enjoy the beautiful weather.

Quick pop in from me . I haven't had a chance to post since I think Wednesday .
Wishing Jackie and her family a safe journey and hopefully a lot of smiles and laughter among a few tears to honour a life very well lived
Thoughts are with NMLC . I wish a peaceful passing for your loved one . Take care . xxx
I haven't had a chance to catch up on the last few days so just gentle hugs where needed . Wishing a lovely weekend to those hoping for one and the yellow ball in the sky for all , it lifts our mood , brings out the flowers ( we'll ignore the weeds ) and when things are tough it makes the going a bit easier .

  • Afternoon, ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one. Jackie, I hope your trip goes well, I am sure there will be some laughter amongst the tears.

Late up this morning, to up to the loo at 7am woke at 9.15...hey ho, nothing spoiling.

OH did an hour on his jig saw, we then moved a couple of plants round, the hodta is now by the front door and the pot with the daffs and tulips in is back on the shale at the side of the house. Once the bulbs die back they will get put in the garden for next year,

Our neighbours cut their hedge yesterday, so OH went out and tidied our side, apparently the damage to the hedge was caused by our old friend G lighting a bonfire too close to it. There are signs of recovery, its very slow though.

Its quite muggy outside, I scrubbed the garden table down, I just need to sort the chairs and we will be able to sit out........

OH off for his siesta, I am going to do a bit more at that quilt, have not touched it since Wednesday.

I've slept like a log, no nightmares or if there were any I don't remember them. I have had nightmares all my life and usually manage to wake myself up if they are bad. Thank you for the link LW the suggested meaning was what I worked out it would probably be.
I'm glad it was helpful. :o

Dotty has settled in brilliantly; she's being so good, considering we're knee-deep in workmen this weekend. She made several doggie friends when I took her out this morning - I think I've worn her out, she's curled up on a blanket on the lounge chair, fast asleep as I type! :D

We've decided to postpone our usual weekend tasks - I can't settle to anything with the workmen here; plus I have to keep an eye on Dotty, so we're holed up in the lounge with the curtains closed to prevent the workmen from peering in at me. Mr LW is ensconced in the kitchen with a book to read, ready to provide coffee/tea/chilled water as required, and ready to be consulted if the workmen need to check something before proceeding.

I shall be so glad when it's all finished and all these blokes are off my property!

GWS vibes for Scampi. Be patient, little chap, you'll soon be all healed, and then you can play ball to your heart's content. x

Lamewolf - Sorry you have to be stuck with curtains closed on such a nice day . That is a coping mechanism I am well familiar with , it doesn't happen so often with my daughter nowadays as she can retreat out of view . Close your eyes and imagine how your garden will be when the work is done and how it can be a little retreat and joy to you both - and your canine friends .

Household chores outside the house are all complete, household chores in the house are all complete. Hubby sorting his tools out in the shed. Ive lost him for the day now cause once he gets in there he doesnt come out for hours! Not that i mind, i like a man who retreats to his shed to do 'mens things'.:) The garden can wait!:j

Hi Chums, thank you for all your kind wishes,my eldest DD has been with me today, and we have been going through some old photos of Davey which I will take with me, which I am sure his grandchildren haven't seen. One if particular when he had a minor brush as a musician in a group as a fairly young teenager back in the 1950s.He was bass guitarist in a Skiffle group called the Satellites and when the Lewisham rail crash happened Davey and his group of fellow young lads played on the Lewisham Station forecourt to help raise money for the people who had been injured in the crash. One of the boys who played the washboard had an older sister who had to have her foot amputated to get her out of the train.
I can remember the boys all practicing in our Lounge, and my late Dad, saying what an unholy row it was :):):) More enthusiasm than talent perhaps, but they enjoyed themselves, and did a couple if gigs here and there in pubs in south-east London before discovering 'girls' which was much more fun apparently :):):)

Just about the make myself an early dinner as I'm feeling a bit peckish, possibly use up the rest of the HM soup and I have some nice danish blue in the fridge which will go down nicely with some crackers and a few grapes.

Hope every one has had a good day
    Cheers

Another great memory Jackie0, such different times.

I've made it back home after another sunny drive and it's just started to rain. Gentle rain, but still wet. It's making the air smell so lovely after a few days of dry weather, still, the forecast is good for the next couple of days.

Well, the place I was heading for is not (of course) Barrhead) and it's not even in Braehead but further away (Uplawmoor) but so worth the drive. It's a huge nursery with just about every conceivable plant, acres and acres of it. And such helpful and knowledgeable staff too. I found two plants which I wanted and just happened to mention the other two to a staff member and she dispatched a colleague to fetch them. As they supply a large number of garden centres it made sense to cut out the middle man and buy direct - MSE or what????

I've just had a long chat with an old old friend who's been having a long series of difficult times, so it was good to catch up with him. Now it's 'down' time for me, everything down except my feet which will be up.

Thank you Jackie for sharing that memory with us, am sure Davey's grandchildren will love seeing those photos.
Ooh, I love a good nursery Gers, although not an expert by a long, long chalk I love wandering around looking at all the different plants and imagining them in our garden. Apart from a few loads of washing have done very little today apart from sit in the sunshine, reading and enjoying the sounds of the birds in the trees and hedges. One of my favourites, the skylarks, have been up over the field most of the day and we even had a buzzard circling high above the house. He was soon seen off by the jackdaws when he dared to come a bit lower, there is a lot of nests in the beech trees and they are in constant battles with the magpies to protect their young.
Time to cook a bit of tea and there is a glass of cold white wine with my name on, have a good evening everyone x
