Amex direct debit

I've recently started using the platinum everyday cashback card and all is fine.

Only thing is the direct debit is being taken out nearly two weeks before the due date, not the end of the world but seems to be taking the mick a bit on the up to element of the interest free period.

Just wondered if anyone had noticed this as its not a feature of my other cards.

Yes, I think the DD date quoted is usually 6-7 working days before the due date

It seems to be a feature of some cards (Amex, RBS, NatWest, Tesco, etc.) so it is one of the cards where I pay manually rather than by direct debit.

Yes, seems unusual, I've never held a tesco card, held a natwest card many years ago, but have held a wide range of cards over the last fifteen years, including mbna, Halifax, nationwide, co-op, capital one etc and never seen this before.

Direct debits are normally taken on the due date or even a day or two after with weekends and bank holidays, bit cheeky but I'll live with it, or cancel the dd and lay manually.
