please could someone explain the difference on these two window quotes and which would be the best
There is a £450 price difference
one company has sales people the other doesn't
non are national companies
it is for a two bed terrace with one bow window at present

The devil is in the detail, so I cannot give a definite comment for the detail is sadly lacking.

My observation is nobody should be offered C Rated windows and nobody should be offered five year guarantees on sealed units. Both suggest a cheap and suspect specification. With this in mind also look closely at the Rehau profile. Rehau do make a nasty cheap profile, in addition to those that are OK. Which one is being offered to you?

The other company other a ten year warranty on the frames and windows and has a good reputation
So I think you have answered my question unless you can suggest some questions I should ask the other company

You do not say what profile is being used on the other quote, nor what quality of ironmongery is being fitted. As a guide, white handles suggests cheap windows and ironmongery, but this may be your specific colour finish. A key here will be what guarantee is being offered on what items of ironmongery.

I am not saying go with the second quote because there are still unknowns. Moving on from that countless window installations are let down by poor fitting and both quotes may absolutely no references to standards, quality and checking here.

An honest appraisal of both quotes would be both are highly unprofessional, and both would be discarded to the bin if received by an Architect or Surveyor. That is not to say the companies are dubious, but it is enough to say be wary about what you are receiving.

10 years on everything glass, frames and one year on locks also they have been secure tested and their Web site is very detailed and the cheaper one is very basic
