Housing benefit

Hi, we are paying back a housing benefit overpayment within our rent if we were to come off any benefits and just rely on my partners wage how much can they take realistically or a percentage or something as we would be paying full rent we already pay full ct would have no benefits except child benefit.....we pay £24.75 a week at the moment which is taken off our hb......we have 2 children also. Or can we ask to keep paying the amount we already pay plus our full rent as we are still paying towards the debt or do you think they would not accept that as I've never tried to get out of paying have always paid this debt back with no missed payments as it's been within out rent payment, the other thing would be dwp would want abit extra than what we are paying now so we don't want to be worse off if we come off hb and child tax as I would not have any income to fall back on if the kids needed something etc.
I hate to say it but was due to fraud which was not from the offset i don't want any negative posts as I've lived with this over my head since 2012 was convicted 2013 if I could turn back time I would!!
Thank you
