has this affected my credit rating?

Options
Argh! just as i thought i'd managed this month, a friend who was due to pay me some money back said he couldnt afford to repay me, as he'd overspent, so i find myself with 0.10p in my bank account this month. aarrghh! i'm doing a car boot on sunday thats the best emergency plan i can come up with, and i asked halifax for an overdraft as i have a cheque due to come out of that account- they said no because as my student loan hadnt been paid in, they couldn't. when my loan was paid in theyd let me have my overdraft. i didnt know whether to laugh or cry. today they sent me an official looking letter saying "we are very sorry but your application was turned down...etc etc.." which made me panic as now i'm worried it might be listed as a formal application for credit that i got turned down for. What is the situation with student overdrafts? thanks! x
"What...? I was only saying...."
