Has anyone heard of or used the above? Apparently they are the two valuers/surveyors who HSBC use and are independent of HSBC.
Any thoughts?

Cool, thanks.
Fortunately we have solicitors so do not require CC, but we do require a building survey. Did you use SDL or your own firm of surveyors?0 -
SDL are the new name for Direct Valuations (http://sdlgroup.co.uk/about-us/).HSBC been using them for 20 years plus
HSBC use Countrywide for Conveyancing and Valuations (two divisions of same company)
Have had to use both valuation firms as a new customer and when remortgaging and not had any issues. Not sure how they split the valuations between the two firms0 -
So, I called them to learn that they simply take the £797 and then the surveyor gets in contact with the seller to arrange a date and time. So, I'm paying out almost 1k without even knowing which tom, !!!! or harry is surveying the property.
I'm now in two minds as to whether I continue with this or just go for the £263 valuation, and arrange my own separate building survey.0
