Esa and Pension Payments.

Hi,
I am receiving ESA contribution and with my employer ending my contract I will be getting a small pension of £97 a month.
I think that with the ESA i am allowed upto £85 per week pension without it effecting my esa. So i am well under that.
I have also looked at my previous works pension and the pension fund I paid into when I was contracted out.. With these two policies transferred together I would get a pension of £75 a month.
So with both Pensions being added together I will still be well under the £85 a week ESA rule.
All the pensions are being paid early due to ill health. So I assume that all I will need to do is inform ESA that I am getting the pensions and the amount.
Have I missed something as I don't want to claim my pensions now if it will effect my ESA.

Thanks

The amount stated will not affect your Contribution based benefit. You should still inform ESA just to comply with the requirement to inform them of any change of circumstances.
If you move to Income Related benefit at a later date this will be affected, but deferring taking the pension wouldn't make any difference as ESA will assume the pension income is being received anyway.

The number of pension doesn't matter, it's the total value which is of interest to the benefits office.

As long as you remain in the Support Group your entitlement to Contributions based benefit will continue. That means that the £85 per week disregard on your pension will remain in place.
