Standing order over bank holiday weekend

Morning all,

Just a quick query to get opinions before I go into branch and speak to someone.

I have a Barclays account where our wages get paid into, from this account I have a SO set up to pay a sum into a bills account. This SO is set to go out on the last working day of the month. This month it seems to have been paid out on the 3rd May, possibly due to the bank holiday. I would have thought that it should have gone on the 29th April ?

This has caused my mortgage payment to be returned due to not enough funds in the bills account. (Separate issue that i'm speaking to Nationwide about)

I'm a little bit annoyed as I have the potential of a late mortgage payment being entered onto my credit file.

If the SO is set up for the last working day of the month and it was sufficiently funded then I don't see that Barclays have a leg to stand on. Complain to them and see what they have to say for themselves.

I don't think that there is an option for the last working day.

EDIT: I was wrong :o. Just checked, and Barclays do have "last working day" option.
