I'm pleased to see that the article makes it abundantly clear that the switching window is 49 days long and not just the 42 days after customers should have received notice of the end of contract.

I am one of the people incorrectly charged (by letter), and I still have not received concrete proof that the charges will be withdrawn.
The silly thing is that I received an email a couple of days before the letter saying that I am free to leave without penalty as I am inside the 49 days.
I am pleased that MSE and the Regulator are now involved.0 -
Maybe I was a lucky one then, I was on this tariff and left early this year to join the MSE British Gas Collective Switch, fully expecting the £60 charge, only to receive a letter saying sorry you are leaving and there was no penalty to do so. However the hassles I had with their new "IT System" when I joined proves they simply haven't a clue what is going on. Paid off my final bill at the end of March too so free and clear and no charges anywhere in sight. Got my free £30 from the MSE cheap energy club as a bonus then as I was offsetting the Co-op charge I thought I would get.0

I have just received an email from the Co-op confirming that I will not have to pay exit fees.
It is reasonably clear that the staff are under pressure again, for whatever reason.0
